# One a Day Fantasy — Full Product Description > A strategy-driven fantasy basketball game for the NBA Playoffs. Pick one player per day. Each player can only be picked once. Compete on a global leaderboard. ## What is One a Day Fantasy? One a Day Fantasy is a free web-based fantasy sports game built around the NBA Playoffs. It strips away the complexity of traditional fantasy sports — no salary caps, no roster management, no lineups — and replaces it with a single, high-stakes decision each day: which one player do you pick? The core mechanic is the "burn" rule: every player you pick is permanently removed from your available pool for the rest of the playoffs. This transforms a simple daily pick into a season-long strategy game. Do you burn a superstar in the first round, or save them for the Conference Finals? **Tagline:** Just one pick. Every day. Each player can only be picked once. ## How It Works ### The Daily Pick 1. Each day during the NBA Playoffs, you select exactly one player from any game scheduled that day 2. Your player earns a fantasy score based on their real-game performance 3. That player is now "burned" — you can never pick them again 4. Your score is added to your cumulative season total ### Scoring Fantasy Score = Points + Rebounds + Assists (PTS + REB + AST) That's it. No complex scoring tiers, no bonus multipliers. Simple, transparent, easy to follow during a live game. If a player does not play (DNP, injury), their score is 0. Scores are finalized when the game is marked as complete. ### Pick Locking - Picks lock on a per-game basis: when a game tips off, players from that game can no longer be selected or changed - If you haven't picked yet and an earlier game starts, you can still pick from a later game - Once all games of the day have tipped off without a pick, you score 0 for that day - Locked picks cannot be changed ### Player Availability - At the start of the playoffs, all players from the 16 playoff teams are available - When a team is eliminated, all their players become unavailable to everyone - A "burned" player is only unavailable to the user who picked them — other users can still select that player ### Off Days Days with no scheduled NBA Playoff games require no action and do not affect scoring. ## Key Features ### Home Dashboard - Hero section showing your pick status for the day (no pick, pending, locked, live score, final) - Countdown timer to the last tip-off of the day - Today's game slate as matchup cards with team badges and tip-off times - Burned players sidebar showing your recently used players - Date navigation to browse past and upcoming days ### Player Selection - Browse all games for the day as matchup cards - Toggle between "Top Players" (highest average fantasy score per team) and "All Players" (full rosters) - See each player's season averages (PTS, REB, AST) to inform your decision - Burned players are visually greyed out and not selectable - Confirm your pick via a confirmation modal with player details ### Leaderboard - Global public leaderboard ranked by cumulative fantasy score - Your display name and total score are visible to all users - Updated in real-time as games are played and scored ### Playoff Bracket - Visual bracket showing all playoff series - Series progress with win/loss tracking - Team elimination status ### Profile & Pick History - Complete history of all your picks, dates, players, and scores - Season statistics summary - Account management ## Who Is It For? One a Day Fantasy is designed for two overlapping audiences: - **Casual basketball fans** who want a fun, low-commitment way to engage with the NBA Playoffs. Making a pick takes 30 seconds. No research required, no complex decisions — just pick your favorite player and watch the game. - **Fantasy sports enthusiasts** who appreciate the strategic depth of the burn mechanic. Optimizing your picks across a two-month playoff run requires thinking several rounds ahead, tracking matchups, and managing your remaining player pool. ## What It Is Not - **Not gambling.** There are no entry fees, no real-money prizes, no betting, and no wagering of any kind. Points and leaderboard positions have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed. - **Not daily fantasy (DFS).** There are no salary caps, no multi-player lineups, and no entry fees.
